Inferno is a fearless Autobot who has a firetruck as his vehicle form. He relishes the attention he gets for saving lives and extinguishing fires any chance he gets, but Inferno&#039;s intentions are always noble, though he rarely gets involved in the battles.    Inferno would be a lot better at his job if he weren&#039;t so easily distracted. He genuinely wants to be responsible and perform his job well, but he simply cannot resist getting involved in combat. The rugged and powerful, Inferno likes things to be as intense as possible, although he prefers the heat of battle to the heart of a burning building. He&#039;s not unaware of the seriousness of his function, and he does enjoy the chances it offers him to save innocent lives. It&#039;s just that Inferno can&#039;t turn down an opportunity to get into the thick of the action. Like his fellow Autobot Ironhide Inferno speaks with a thick southern U.S. accent.

Fleeing from the war that has raged on the planet Cybertron for millions of years, the heroic Autobots led by Optimus Prime encounter a surprise attack by the evil Decepticons led by Megatron. The ensuing melee aboard the Autobot ship ends when the ship crashes on a volcano. Four million years later, an earthquake reactivates the ship`s computer and resurrects both the Autobots and Decepticons, resuming the great war of the Transformers.<br><br>

Walker Edmiston was an American character actor and voice-over artist. Edmiston appeared on various television programs in character roles during the 1950s – 1970s, such as Gunsmoke, Mission: Impossible, Knots Landing, and The Dukes of Hazzard, all on CBS. In 1966, Edmiston had a recurring role as Regan in the short-lived ABC comedy western series, The Rounders with co-stars Ron Hayes, Patrick Wayne, and Chill Wills.    Walker Edmiston died of cancer in Woodland Hills, California on February 15, 2007, just nine days after his 82nd birthday    He is best known for his voice over as Inferno in Transformers: Generation 1.
