A nineteen-year-old hacker/detective who works for the police. Although he is far-sighted, he only wears his glasses when using the computer, letting them rest on his forehead the rest of the time, because Usui wears glasses as well. He considers himself responsible for his parents' deaths. During the HAL arc, he was infected with the Denshi Drug to become one of HAL's guardians, although the infection was incomplete due to the fact that he was wearing glasses at the time.

The Demon Neuro has a raging hunger for 'mysteries.' Being dissatisfied with his current regime in hell, he’s come into the mortal realm in order to satiate his ever-growing appetite. Because of this, he makes a permanent deal with Yako Katsuragi (who has her own personal mystery she has to solve), and together they solve crimes for Neuro's appetite.
