Born Haruno Shiobana, Giorno is the son of Dio (fathered using Jonathan Joestar's body, which logically that would make him part of the Joestar family) and a Japanese woman. As a young child his mother remarried, to an Italian man, and they moved to Italy; hence Haruno Shiobana became Giorno Giovanna.    

Giorno's great ambition in life is to become a mafia boss (a "Gang Star"), and as such he eventually joins the mob squad Passione. Though he is its youngest and newest member, he quickly proves his mettle and eventually becomes the de facto leader of the group. Unlike typical mafia bosses, he wanted to give divested riches to the poor, giving him an agenda similar to Robin Hood. He eventually influences all of Passione, ~!all but their boss, who later became their worst enemy.!~

The fifth story arc of the long-running JoJo's Bizarre Adventure series. 
Giorno Giovanna, a young man living in Naples, has the blood of DIO -- the eternal enemy of the Joestar clan -- running in his veins. Giorno becomes a delinquent due to being persecuted since childhood. However, he's led back onto the right path thanks to a gangster who saved him and taught him to believe in others. Bizarrely enough, this gang of people who didn't forget honor, gratitude, and respect made him reform. This is how Giorno came to admire gangsters. In the backstreets of Italy, Giorno causes trouble alongside his gang "Passione," and ends up being targeted...

For a series of bizarre events, she is now in Venice, to take the place of the grandmother who died in an accident in a large hotel, as a cleaning woman, dragging her existence in a routine. But Coni has a secret: she is a Stand user, a presence that she has never understood. 
The story takes place in Venice, after the group betray the Boss. It primarily centers on Fugo and his encounters with three new stand users. A series of mass killings have been occurring, and Fugo can be seen at each crime scene - as they are apparently a result of his stand Purple Haze going berserk.
