Conis is the first person to greet the Straw Hats Pirate Crew once they've reached Skypiea. She becomes an important character in the Skypiea arc because of her interaction with the Straw Hat pirates. Once it is discovered that the crew has not paid Skypiea's exorbitant toll, however, she regretfully follows the mandatory commands from their &quot;god&quot; Enel, which has been placed upon all her people under pain of death. They were not fulfilled and obeyed, and she reports them as trespassers. After this while leading Luffy, Sanji, and Ussop to Upper Yard, Conis under the burden of her betrayal breaks down and tells them the truth. This disloyalty to the god Enel is met with a wave of lightning from the heavens directed toward Conis. Luffy tries to save her but is caught in the middle of it too. Both barely escape with help from Gan Fall &lsquo;knight of the sky. Conis later makes up for her actions, by guiding the Merry Go through Upper Yard, warning her people of Enel's attack, and helping the Straw Hats back down to earth after they had defeated Enel.    Conis is head strong, hopeful, and cares deeply for the well being of others. When first introduced she seems happy, friendly, and acts innocent. After meeting the Straw Hat Pirates she keeps all those things. As she becomes more and more courageous, she speaks her mind and is not being afraid of her people's &quot;God&quot; Enel as they struggle to fight him. She is very good at playing the harp as well as being able to use a Waver. Though she never fought, she carried a Burn Bazooka and knew how to use an array of dials. Because of her musical abilities, it was speculated by fans to be the crew's new musician. However, Conis decided to remain in Skypiea.

Laura Dawn Bailey is an American actress and voice actress. Best known for her anime roles (at first, Funimation titles but she has definitely moved on), she has also supplied voices in video games and worked as staff on several anime series. She's become one of the most prolific female voice actors in the AAA gaming industry since 2010.

Some of her best known anime roles are Lust in Fullmetal Alchemist, Young Trunks in Dragon Ball Z, Maka Albarn in Soul Eater, Tohru Honda in Fruits Basket, Sana Kurata in Kodocha, and Shin Nohara in the English dub of Crayon Shin-chan.

She is married to fellow voice actor [Travis Willingham](https://anilist.co/staff/95026/Travis-Willingham), and they have one son, Ronin.

Bailey primarily does video game voice overs and western animation nowadays, rarely getting any new anime roles, generally only reprising roles when she does anime. If she does get a new anime role, it's usually with Studiopolis.

The 14th One Piece movie, which commemorates the anime's 20th anniversary, takes place during the Pirates Festival, an epic treasure hunt in which pirates from across the globe race to find an item that once belonged to Gol D. Roger himself!

The special will be the first in the "Episode of" series to cover the Skypeia arc, and will feature a character who did not appear in the original Skypeia arc from the anime.
