Kayin is a friend of Eiji Shinjo and is described as being a bounty hunter, going by the name of Storm. He was trained in swordfighting along with Eiji by Eiji&#039;s older brother Sho, until Sho had suddenly disappeared. Kayin had entered the first Toshinden tournament to avenge his foster father&#039;s recent death, who he learned had been killed by a participant who won the previous tournament. He eventually learned that Sho was the perpitrator and his friendship with Eiji was nearly shattered because of this.  Kayin was then forced to enter the second tournament after his adoptive daughter, Naru, was kidnapped by the Secret Society. At the end of the event, he managed to help bring down the fall of the Secret Society and rescued Naru from danger. Kayin had then discovered that he and Naru were being targeted by the Organization. He participated in the third tournament hosted by it and managed to help destroy the Organization. However, he realized that Naru would always be in danger because of him and he decided to leave her in a housing institute. He handed down his Excalibur sword to her and then disappeared. It is unknown of what happened to Kayin after the events of Toshinden 3, but it is likely that he may have died, because he appears as a ball of light to Naru from within her ending in Toshinden 4.  Interestingly enough, despite Kayin&#039;s nationality being depicted as Scottish and later English, he speaks with a clear American accent. It has long been rumoured that his nationality was given as British so as to avoid an infringement lawsuit from Capcom, as Eiji and Kayin are virtually identical to Capcom&#039;s Ryu and Ken from Street Fighter, save for their weapons and nationalities.

For one year, Master Swordsman Eiji Shinjo has been haunted by the memory of his battle with the renegade champion, Gaia - a battle that was cut short by the forces of the malevolent syndicate known as "the organization." 
Denied victory, Eiji left the tournament followed by his opponents mocking laughter. Worse still, Eiji walked away no closer to finding his long lost brother, Sho. But now, a mysterious warrior is hunting down the champions of the previous tournament and using their own moves against them - and it looks like that person may be Sho. Who is this powerful new foe and who is his next target? 
Eiji and Kayin, his closest friend and greatest rival, struggle to unravel the mystery before they, too, join the ranks of the defeated. The answer lies at the heart of the Organization and its plans for world domination. At last, the ultimate battle between the greatest fighters in the world will be decided. But if Eiji loses, his friends - Ellis - may Die...

Koyasu is the most prolific voice actor in the industry, having been credited for over 700 roles as of April 2022.

Growing up, Koyasu skipped out on going to school to watch movies at home because he wanted to become an actor. It wasn’t until later that he became interested in voice acting after having seen [Galaxy Express 999](https://anilist.co/anime/1491/). After graduation he entered a voice acting school. In 1988, he made his voice acting debut, and got his first regular role a year later voicing [Gai](https://anilist.co/character/13374/) in [Tenkuu Senki Shurato](https://anilist.co/anime/2113/).

Though having voiced more characters in the medium than anyone else, he is probably most known for his role as [Dio Brando](https://anilist.co/character/4004/) in [JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure](https://anilist.co/anime/14719/). He has stated that he likes playing villainous characters.

Koyasu has taken over many of [Kaneto Shiozawa](https://anilist.co/staff/95424/)’s roles after Shiozawa’s passing.
