He is the local god of the land and serves as the patron of merchants. His intentions are often misinterpreted because of his actions. He runs a convenience store close to his shrine where he has two stone imperial guardian lions, named Kōga and Eiga, which he can bring to life. He is a real god unlike a yōkai like Kūgen Tenko, so he is able to overpower Kūgen without trying too much especially by the use of kotodama  since he is the most powerful in his territory. He usually seems very jovial and friendly but is extremely sharp and sly and sometimes might be harsh. He keeps note of any new yōkai that enter his domain.

The Mizuchi bloodline has long been hunted by Yokai, or monsters. Toru and Noboru Takagami are descendents of this bloodline, and under their grandmother's discretion, are given a secret weapon to combat these monsters. It is Tenko Kugen, a fox deity who can take the shape of a man or woman at will. The mischievous deity is accompanied by a shrine maiden, Ko, who will both live with the Takagami brothers at their house. Life just got complicated.

Two brothers, Noboru and Toru grew away from the fact that their family could use the Water ki to keep demons away. However, in order to keep Toru safe after a demon goes after his life, they will need to awake the fox diety Kuugen.

Short comedy sketches involving Tenko &amp; Kou.

T&#333;ru and Noburo are brothers of the Takagami Family. Toru has Yin in his blood and is constantly targeted by the y&#333;kai and other creatures lurking in Japan. When T&#333;ru is targeted by one, his brother Noburo releases the fox deity K&#363;gen Tenko who protects T&#333;ru from the monster. K&#363;gen now acts as the protector of T&#333;ru and Noburo to keep them safe from any threats to them, while at the same time trying to adapt to the modern world.
