Kaito is Kei's childhood friend and the only human person in the entire country who makes an effort to help Kei despite the fact he is an Ajin.

Kaito is shown to be a very loyal and supportive friend for reasons not yet made known. Without hesitation, he helps Kei flee despite the fact that Kei had rejected him as a friend.

Though situations become increasingly worse, he appears to retain a very positive, determined attitude. He is very resourceful and though he is not as intelligent as Kei, he is able to make tactical decisions while they were on the run together.

High school student Kei Nagai is struck dead in a grisly traffic accident, but immediately revives to learn that he may not be like every other human. An American voice actor, former kickboxer, and martial arts instructor. He is the son of Debbie Rothstein and the late [Bob Papenbrook](https://anilist.co/staff/96008/), both of whom are also voice actors, and he is married to Samantha Papenbrook; they have a daughter named Ella Papenbrook, born on September 5, 2015. Bryce graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles in 2007 with a Bachelor's in Political Science. Like his parents, Bryce does voices primarily in anime dubbing and video games.

He trained in the martial arts for over 16 years, and holds a fourth-degree black belt. He would go on to become a 3-time kickboxing champion with over 60 fights to his credit. He has been a kickboxing instructor at the House of Champions Academy of Martial Arts in Van Nuys, California.
