The main character. A very powerful witch that hates conflicts, because of this she interferes with any violence including battles, by summoning mystical creatures that are really big. Although the heavens take notice of Maria's actions and the Archangel (and Saint) Michael comes down making a decree that if Maria loses her virginity she will also lose her powers. Ezekiel, an angel dispatched by Michael, is left to keep an eye on Maria, making sure she doesn't tip the "scales". 

~!It's shown in the anime that Maria was not accepted into villages before she reached the village where Martha lived during a plague. She'd received the villagers trust by giving them medicine to keep people from ever getting sick. She has built her home in the forest due to the villager's acceptance.!~

~!At the end, Maria has married with Joseph and Ezekiel will be reborn as Maria's daughter.!~

The story follows Maria, the most powerful witch who lives during the Hundred Years' War in France. She despises war, so she obstructs battles with her strong magical powers. Her meddling with her succubus Artemis and incubus Priapos has caught the attention of the heavens, and so the Archangel Michael issues an edict. When Maria loses her virginity, she will also lose her magical powers. A beautiful angel named Ezekiel is supposed to watch Maria and make sure the witch does not use magic in front of people, but Maria continues to use magic anyways.

Hisako Kanemoto was raised in Okayama Prefecture and attended Kamogata High School. Upon graduation, she enrolled in the voice acting course at the Vocational School of Art College Kobe. After completing her education in 2008, she moved to Tokyo and joined the training office associated with Production Baobab agency.

Early in her career, Kanemoto used the pseudonym _Juri Aikawa_. She made her anime debut in [Sora no Manimani](https://anilist.co/anime/6098) in 2009 under this name. After landing the lead role in [So Ra No Wo](https://anilist.co/anime/6802) To the following year, Kanemoto announced that she would be using her real name in her works moving forward. She was also cast as the title character in [Shinryaku! Ika Musume](https://anilist.co/anime/8557) later that year.

After a breakthrough 2010, Kanemoto was named Best New Actress at the 5th Seiyuu Awards. She has also voiced a number of mascot characters from Okayama Prefecture because of her origin.

Kanemoto made her debut as a solo musical artist in 2014 under Victor Entertainment with the album Fantastic Voyage.

On May 26, 2018 she announced on her official blog that she will take hiatus from professional activities for studying abroad. Her agency Production BAOBAB confirmed her return to work in March 2019.
