Director of Tokyo City Esperion FC Youth, and Head Coach of the A Team. He was born in Ehime, Japan but moved to Tokyo to attend high school. He joined Tokyo City Esperion FC of the J-League (Japan's top professional football league) at the age of 18 and became a regular at 20. At 23 he was signed by the Spanish club Sabadell FC who had been recently promoted to Spain's top division, La Liga. A while later, his mother married [Hana Ichijou](https://anilist.co/character/162035/Hana-Ichijou)'s father and he became her step-brother. Fukuda happens to meet [Ashito](https://anilist.co/character/133818/Ashito--Aoi) in Ehime, discovers his talent, and invites him to try out for Esperion Youth.

Ashito Aoi is a young, aspiring soccer player from a backwater town in Japan. His hopes of getting into a high school with a good soccer club are dashed when he causes an incident during a critical match for his team, which results in their loss and elimination from the tournament.
