Michel Volban de Cabelle&mdash;the figurehead of the People&#039;s Army. She is actually the sister of the real Michel Volban who has disappeared in the war with Vetti. She had her own back scarred with a X-shaped mark in order to imitate her brother&#039;s scar which was flashbacked after being revealed as a woman to Cleo&#039;s crew. A man resembling her brother was part of the attack force that infiltrated the glass battleship. This man was emotionless, brainwashed and was constantly attacking Michel but she still believed he was her brother. In the end, when Cleo and her brother was about to be sucked out into the depths of space, she chose to save Cleo and said that man was no brother of hers. At the end of the episode, it was shown that the man was her real brother Michel with an X-shaped scar of his back. Michel&#039;s personality is evident because of her past. She had little contact with her deceased mother -her mother dying months after she was born- and her father being home rarely. She learned to fight from her brother, who had become a major role model in her life. She loved fencing and wished to be like her brother&mdash;which may explain her tom-boyish attitude. After her father had seen her fencing with her brother, and seeing that she surpassed him, she was ordered to be more like a lady of a royal house. After that incident, she vowed to herself that she would be and become a proper lady. But, after her father&#039;s death, and her brother&#039;s death during the major battle in the beginning of the series, she renounces her identity and becomes her brother in order to save the People&#039;s Army destruction. In order to do that though, she chooses to truly become her brother, by gaining a X-shaped scar on her back like her brother had once gotten from a battle with Vetti in a tournament, and also renouncing her real name, which is Racine Blance. All the effort to act as &quot;Michel&quot; was due to her love for him which was beyond sibling love.      ~!In later episodes, she falls in love with Cleo Corbeille.!~

Laura Dawn Bailey is an American actress and voice actress. Best known for her anime roles (at first, Funimation titles but she has definitely moved on), she has also supplied voices in video games and worked as staff on several anime series. She's become one of the most prolific female voice actors in the AAA gaming industry since 2010.

Some of her best known anime roles are Lust in Fullmetal Alchemist, Young Trunks in Dragon Ball Z, Maka Albarn in Soul Eater, Tohru Honda in Fruits Basket, Sana Kurata in Kodocha, and Shin Nohara in the English dub of Crayon Shin-chan.

She is married to fellow voice actor [Travis Willingham](https://anilist.co/staff/95026/Travis-Willingham), and they have one son, Ronin.

Bailey primarily does video game voice overs and western animation nowadays, rarely getting any new anime roles, generally only reprising roles when she does anime. If she does get a new anime role, it's usually with Studiopolis.
