A Public Safety Devil Hunter, he is a new recruit working under [Makima](https://anilist.co/character/137080/Makima) as a member of Tokyo Special Division 4. He is partnered with [Kobeni Higashiyama](https://anilist.co/character/144594/Kobeni-Higashiyama).

Hirokazu is shown to have high moral standards and cares a lot about his teammates and their wellbeing, going out of his way to assist and support others whenever possible, especially towards those who are sick. He was trained by [Himeno](https://anilist.co/character/144596) for half a year. Himeno has stated that what he lacks in ability, he makes up for in drive. He likes writing haikus in his free time as a hobby.

The name says it all! Denji's life of poverty is changed forever when he merges with his pet chainsaw dog, Pochita! Now he's living in the big city and an official Devil Hunter. But he's got a lot to learn about his new job and chainsaw powers!

Denji is a teenage boy living with a Chainsaw Devil named Pochita. Due to the debt his father left behind, he has been living a rock-bottom life while repaying his debt by harvesting devil corpses with Pochita. 
One day, Denji is betrayed and killed. As his consciousness fades, he makes a contract with Pochita and gets revived as "Chainsaw Man" — a man with a devil's heart.
