In the fallout of nuclear war, the last of humanity survives with the help of life-like androids known as Dolls. Built to serve, some fight in wars as Tactical Dolls or T-Dolls. Some of them and their newly assigned human commander are sent on missions to face a new rogue threat, Sangvis Ferri.<br>

On September 1, 2016, Office Osawa announced that Taneda would put her career on hiatus to focus on treatment for her throat, various roles she done were recast during this time such as Erina Nakiri from Food Wars who was replaced by Hisako Kanemoto from Season 3 and onwards.

On August 4, 2017, Office Osawa announced that her treatment was successful and she would gradually return to voice acting.

In response to shortages in manpower, humanity creates Autonomous Dolls: highly advanced androids with superior strength and advanced AI capable of expressing emotions. Furthermore, during World War 3 (2045 to 2051), PMCs (private military companies) develop Tactical Dolls: Autonomous Dolls with the ability to fight. Acquiring great wealth from the war, these companies become the de facto police and military of many nations.<br>

During this era of waning government power, Tactical Dolls of Sangvis Ferri (the world's largest PMC) suddenly kill their human masters and attack nearby human settlements. In response, Grifon & Kryuger PMC and their Tactical Dolls are hired to stop and contain the Sangvis Ferri forces.
