Shutou Masaomi is a student from Tottori Hakurou High School and a member of its sumo club.
Shutou is a large, heavy light skinned man with brown hair. He has droopy black eyes, fat lips and a big nose. He wears Tottori Hakurou Sumo Club's typical mawashi which is dark blue with a single light green stripe on the left.
Despite his intimidating look, thanks to his large size, Shutou is incredibly shy. He's also very self-conscious due to him having a speaking disability - he stutters. While he also has a relatively strong temper, he reverts quickly to his real nature outside the ring, as when he apologized to Kei for hurting him, which led to the Oodachi wrestler to ask him for forgiveness as well.

It is a divine ritual, a martial art, a combat sport—it's sumo!! 

A "small" new student, Ushio Hinomaru, appears before the weak little sumo club of Oodachi High School! The words "big" and "heavy" are the rules to this sport, which does not fit this newbie any inch, but this guy goes and does what...!? Ushio and the small sumo club climbs its way to the top! 

The goal is Hinoshita Kaisan (A title for the highest rank in professional sumo, equivalent of Yokozuna)!
