Sunny (Sani) is one of the "Four Heavenly Kings" (四天王, shitennou), he is first shown as having great strength, like Toriko, shown carrying a Regal Mammoth with one arm, although this is just a clever trick due to the fact that he was actually using his monstrously strong hair, each of his strings being strong enough to lift nearly 50 pounds. He is Rin's older brother. 

He is a quiet, pretty boy who judges the "beauty" of people's actions and speaks in an elegant, almost flirtatious manner. He has a way of "hitting" without even touching the target, mainly related to his "sensor" talent that allows him to know the physical state of those around him. His "sensor" is actually made up of thousands and thousands of super fine hairs that can reach a maximum length of 7.6 m (25 feet). Sunny's body has a very high body temperature and a strong sense of touch. 

When touched with his hair or any part of his body, it is as if Sunny tastes what he touches. He strives for "harmony" in his dishes, which means perfect use of ingredients, perfect handling of food, and most importantly, producing perfect taste. He seems to be slightly in love with Komatsu (or at least his skills since they seem to produce the "harmony" that Sunny seeks in his meals). 

When he sees Rin, his calm personality disappears and is replaced by that of an overprotective older brother who is shocked by the change in her body (she has gained weight from too many sweets), which leads to a rather comical sibling fight between the two. Despite this, anyone who hurts Rin runs the risk of provoking her anger, in which case there is a 999.999% chance that person will die. He is also aware of his sister's infatuation with Toriko and approves of her. He shows it by saying "If you want to take him as your husband, as long as he protects you, I'll be okay with that. I will not object or complain". 

He, and the other four heavenly kings, were trained by Ichiryuu, the president of the IGO.

This is the great era of gourmet food! And only Toriko can hunt down the ferocious ingredients that supply the world's best restaurants. As a Gourmet Hunter, Toriko tracks and defeats the tastiest and most dangerous animals with his bare hands. But has he met his match with an eight-legged alligator the size of a tank?
