This eccentric and energetic young girl is one of the Borners, surviving test subjects of Snake's Ua virus experiment. The Ua mutation did not appear to have granted her any extraordinary ability, however, causing her to be treated as a disposable pawn by Liang Qi. A comic-relief who was also made fun of for her almost-flat chest, she was variously tasked with things from spying, (unsuccessfully) infecting Japanese representatives of Shanghai Anti-Terrorism Summit with Ua virus, and (again unsuccessfully) killing Canaan.  ~!Because she befriended Maria, however, she hesitated when confronting Canaan and was saved by Canaan in the end. She subsequently tells Minorikawa about Snake and is hired as his informant before going off on her own. Minoru's party eventually runs into her again on their way to the Factory, where her home village once was and where she intends to spend what's left of her life in. She receives a large quantity of medications for suppressing her Ua virus infection after their brief adventure inside the research complex, however. In the last episodes it is suggested that she does benefit from increased mobility and endurance due to her infection (albeit not by any appreciable margin when compared to other Borners), as displayed by her seemingly impossible rescue of Maria from a train about to be destroyed by a time bomb. Oosawa Maria is a Japanese photographer currently working in Shanghai, China. Along with her partner Mino, she searches for potential newsworthy stories throughout the city. When strange events occur at a local festival, Maria and Mino immediately investigate.  Quickly, the two are immersed in a battle between unknown masked men and a strange, white-haired woman.
