Ysley is a Idaten who was born about 100 years ago as a result of a natural outbreak. He can be said to be the brains of the Idaten side, and prefers to study rather than fight, but because he was naturally born, he began research to "learn about himself."

He attempted to train under Rin, but quit only two-three months after starting as he found her training to be brutal torture. He likes to study about past human civilizations and ruins. After a magical being appeared, he was pierced in the chest and defeated by it, but Hayato managed to defeat the being. Realizing that more demons will appear, Ysley decided to renew his training under Rin. 

It has been 800 years since the incredibly fast and powerful gods of battle known as the Idaten had sealed away the demons after an intense battle. Now, that battle is just considered a myth or a fairytale. While the current generation of Idaten who have never even had to fight are enjoying their peaceful lives, someone awakened the demons once again! Armed forces, ingenuity. politics, and intrigue. If you've got it, use everything you can! This three-way battle royale with no rules and no limits is about to begin!!<br>

Ogata attended Tokai University, but left due to lack of interest. They then began working as a musical actress, attending the same classes alongside [Rumi Kasahara](https://anilist.co/staff/95996/) and [Shiho Niiyama](https://anilist.co/staff/95724/). Because of their husky voice, they are often typecast as either young men and boys or tomboyish females. It is also because of this that they are sometimes referred as "Aniki" (big brother) by fans.

In a speech at the 16th Seiyu Awards on March 5, 2022, Ogata had shared that they had been wary to accept "Best Leading Actress" as they mostly played boy characters and do not refer to themselves as an actress. Ogata also shared that "There is so much talk about being 'genderless' nowadays and there are voice actors in the industry who have come out. And like myself, there are people out there who go on about their daily lives mostly not thinking of themselves as women."
