While mostly clueless about the way people on earth function, Melan is a kind, calm individual. He is shown to get defensive if anyone harasses or attacks Marin in his sight. He has a soft side for Marin and is able to learn about the world from her. Only after observing Marin for some time, does he come to understand peace. Melan is courageous beyond all definitions of the word and doesn't stop fighting, even when critically injured. He has a strong sense of honor and justice.

Marin is a typical junior high school girl with a sunny disposition and a loving adoptive family. Her life takes a drastic change when a mysterious mirage is seen in the sky above the entire earth. Killer androids called Monomakia descend to earth from the formation in the sky called Brigadoon and begin to hunt down little Marin. She discovers a blue bottle in a shrine as she seeks escape and from the bottle comes a protector, a sword carrying gun slinging alien called Melan Blue, together they must save the earth and deal with family crisis, school prejudice and the police and come to an understanding of Marins past and Melans unexplained mission, as well as learn to trust each other. Set in 1969 Japan with a colorful cast of friends and enemies.

Houchuu Ootsuka is a Japanese voice actor and narrator affiliated with the talent management firm Crazy Box. 

He is best known for his roles as the voices of Kyao Mirao in Heavy Metal L-Gaim; Yazan Gable in Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam; Akira Sendō in Slam Dunk; SignalMan in Gekisou Sentai Carranger; Imagin, Deneb in Kamen Rider Den-O, Abuto in Gintama, Makoto Sōda in Captain Tsubasa and Jiraiya in Naruto. He is also known for dubbing for Jean-Claude Van Damme, Donnie Yen (especially in Ip Man series), Jeff Goldblum, Ray Liotta, Tim Robbins, John C. McGinley, Brent Spiner, Robert Patrick and many more. He was also the first dubbing voice actor of Kiefer Sutherland and Christopher Lambert in their early days. 

Rafael Antonio "Tony" Olivier is a Puerto Rican-born American voice actor best known for voicing Rick Hunter from Robotech, Lancer from Fate/stay night, and Arsène Lupin III from Lupin the Third. He helped produce the live action shows Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and VR Troopers.
