Kyouko is a kouhai of Tomoe&#039;s and admires her greatly. She joined the baseball club because Tomoe asked her to. At first, she did not have the aptitude for the sport and often missed fly balls but after the summer training camp, she improved. She plays outfield during defense.

In 1925 (year 14 of the Taisho era) baseball is still quite unknown in Japan and there are only a few male teams. After being told by a baseball player that women should become housewives instead of going to school, 14-year-old Akiko invites her friend Koume to start a baseball team in order to prove him wrong. During this time, when even running was considered too vulgar for women, baseball is known as "what the boys do" and they face many difficulties when having to find enough members, to get permission from their parents and also when learning about the sport itself, which they soon discover to be more difficult than expected.

A Japanese voice actor, singer, and pianist. She married the singer-songwriter [Yutaro Miura](https://anilist.co/staff/182317/Yuutarou-Miura) on June 12, 2020. 
 
Makino took up piano at the age of four. Her talent was discovered by the film director Shunji Iwai when she was only seven years old, and from the age of 8 to 17, she played piano solos for three of his films, one of which was _Love Letter_. She then graduated from Tokyo College of Music as piano major in 2008 with the top score in her senior year piano ensemble.

Makino has appeared in two films, several commercials, and a TV Drama. She also sang the ending theme of a Wii game, Arc Rise Fantasia. The song, which she wrote the lyrics and music of herself, was titled "Tenshi no Hashigo ~crepuscular rays~".

She was nominated for "Best Young Seiyuu"  for her outstanding portrayal of Misaki Nakahara in Welcome To The N.H.K!.
