A High school girl living a quiet life in a seaside town, but she feels somewhat detached from her friends during the summer months. She lost her family on a trip when she was six years old. She has a deep, logical, calm and introverted personality. Rarely, she attracts aggressive monsters to her, including sea monsters from the shore.

She seems to have signs of PTSD.

Hinako lives alone by the sea, quietly drifting through life after losing her family years ago. One day, a mermaid named Shiori saves her from a monster and says she’s come to eat her—just not yet. Until then, Shiori will stay by her side and keep her safe. In that moment, a deep hope swells in Hinako: Maybe this girl can finally grant her the ending she’s been waiting for.

Reina Ueda is a Japanese voice actress and singer who is affiliated with 81 Produce. Beginning her career as a voice actress in 2012, her first main role was Naru Sekiya, the protagonist of the 2014 anime series Hanayamata. She is also known for her roles in video games such as Atelier Lydie & Suelle, Azur Lane, or Granblue Fantasy. She was one of the recipients of the Best New Actress Award in the 9th Seiyu Awards in 2015. She released a mini-album in 2016, and her first solo single in 2018.

She is close friends with [Rie Takahashi](https://anilist.co/staff/119331) and they run a radio show called "We Can’t Meet at Work so We Started a Radio Show" together.
