
Working for Zen, Obi, is a strange (but lighthearted mostly) and unusual character in the story. His first appearance is when he tries to frighten Shirayuki by shooting an arrow to a wall next to her. He tends to hide his face under a mask, which makes many people think of him as a bad guy. He later starts showing to have feelings for Shirayuki, for she is the only person that understands him. Out of all the characters in AnS, he is the only character with unknown motives for following Zen so far which makes him a rather mysterious character.

In the kingdom of Tanbarun lives Shirayuki, an independent and strong-willed young woman. Her resourceful intelligence has led her become a skilled pharmacist, but her most defining trait is her shock of beautiful apple-red hair. Her dazzling mane gets her noticed by the prince of the kingdom, but instead of romancing her, he demands she be his concubine. Shirayuki refuses, chops off her lovely locks, and runs away to the neighboring kingdom of Clarines. There, she befriends a young man named Zen, who, SURPRISE, is also a prince, although with a much better temperament than the previous one. Watch as Shirayuki finds her place in the new kingdom, and in Zen’s heart.

The OAD will adapt three chapters from the original manga. The OAD is adapting the 41st chapter of the manga where Shirayuki and Zen go on a date in the castle town. The anime is also adapting a special chapter from volume seven — which follows Prince Raji as a child — as well as a special chapter from volume 11 that chronicles how Zen, Mitsuhide, and Kiki first met.
