Ichigo was just a normal 12-year old junior high student who was on a date with Aoyama Masaya until her DNA is mysteriously merged with the DNA of an Iriomote Wildcat. Now she is the 'leader' of a group of girls, whose DNA were also merged with that of an endangered species, called Tokyo Mew Mew. The Mew Mews have to save the world from Chimera Animas, the aliens, and the alien leader, Deep Blue. Originally, Ichigo wants nothing to do with the "Mew Project", instead wishing to simply spend time with her crush, Masaya. Later, she grudgingly accepts her fate, realizing what she is (a Mew) and the importance of the task assigned to her.  

Ichigo is sweet, and ready for anything. Sometimes she will go crazy if she is mad or excited. She is head-over-heels in love with Masaya. Ichigo cares very much about her friends, and cannot bear to see someone hurt. However, she's also got a very bold nature and is very friendly. She's also very hard working, and very brave (the only thing that scares her is ghosts). She's a very good leader of Tokyo Mew Mew. Her hobbies are buying clothes, and spending time with Masaya Aoyama. Her favourite food is waffles with maple syrup, pizza, fish, dried bonito and strawberries. She dislikes carrots. She is hyper and a happy, cheery person. Her friends Moe and Miwa support her relationship with Masaya. She acts quite preppy in Mew Mew Power. 


She is injected with the DNA of an Iriomote Wildcat. Later she finds herself acting like, instead of a wildcat, an ordinary housecat and, remembering the dream sequence of a cat jumping into her body when she was injected, realizes something has happened to her.

 ~!Later, as the story progresses, her cat DNA begins to overtake her human DNA. When she is excited or nervous, she grows cat ears and a tail. But if she gets very nervous or excited, she turns into a cat. In the anime, when she kisses someone, she turns into a cat. To turn back to normal, she must kiss someone again. Her crush Masaya Aoyama, as well as Ryou Shirogane (as Alto), save her a lot of times, and Pudding Fong on one occasion.!~

~!Kisshu comes to save Ichigo and almost got killed. After Kisshu leaves earth (forever) Masaya picks Ichigo up and thinks she is dead, but with a kiss, she is revived.!~

On her first date with the cutest boy in school, Ichigo is zapped by a mysterious ray that scrambles her DNA with that of the endangered Iriomote wildcat. The next day, Ichigo discovers that she has developed the agility (and occasionally the ears and tail) of a cat, as well as the power to transform into a pink-haired superheroine, Mew Ichigo. She and four other girls, each endowed with the genes of a different "Red Data" animal, have been selected for the top-secret Mew Project, which aims to protect the Earth from an alien menace known as Deep Blue.

Her voice type is mezzo-soprano. She has a First-class Kindergarten Teacher License and her special skill is playing the flute. 

She got married to voice actor [Satoshi Hino](https://anilist.co/staff/95245/Hino-Satoshi) in 2014. On September 3, 2020, she announced on Twitter the birth of her second child.

Titanilla Bogdányi has been voice acting from a young age and in The Lion King, she got to show her singing voice aswell. She is known for dubbing-over Anne Hathaway, Miley Cyrus, Lindsay Lohan, Alexis Bledel, Jena Malone, and Dania Ramirez. She is also the voice for Ino Yamanaka (Naruto), Sango (Inuyasha), Orihime Inoue (Bleach) and many more.

Mi Sook Jeong, joined KBS Voice Acting Division in 1984. One of her well known voice acting is Kagome Higurashi.  Although unrelated to anime, she played the voice of Reith in the PS2 game, Magna Carta the Tears of Blood.

Ichigo is out on a hot date with her 'crush' when suddenly she's involved in an odd incident in which her DNA is merged with the DNA of an almost extinct wildcat. When four other girls' DNA is merged with the DNA of four other almost extinct animals, it's apparent that they're part of a much bigger plan. Ichigo and her friends have been chosen to become a part of a secret project called the "Mew Project." Their mission: To protect the planet from aliens who are using the planet's animals to attack humans.

With Mew Ichigo studying abroad in London, the remaining four girls from Cafe Mew Mew are one too few. Luckily, a new Mew is about to emerge. Berry just transferred to a different junior high because she thought their school outfits were cute. Little does she know she's about to become the first Mew Mew with TWO sets of animal genes in her blood. Half cat, half rabbit, she's joining the Mew Mew team just in time. A new gang calling itself the Crusaders has appeared, and its leader just happens to love wild game like rabbit - well done and served for his dinner!
