A well known hunter-warrior who killed [Yugo's](https://anilist.co/character/19759/Yugo) brother after his wife Nana betrayed him over her fears of his building a successful flying machine. As a veteran hunter-warrior, he had no qualms about helping Nana betray her husband and had no remorse in going after Hugo when he in turn became a bounty. He was a firm believer in the hunter-warrior code, seeing [Alita's](https://anilist.co/character/2308/Gally) relationship with Yugo as a betrayal of it.

He was a veteran seiyuu born in Chiba Prefecture.  He retired from voice acting on December 31st, 2000 when he felt a weakness in his own voice. Sogabe died on September 17th, 2006 at around 8 PM from esophageal cancer, with which he had been diagnosed two months before.
