The main protagonist of Trails in the Sky. A bright, cheerful, and always optimistic girl. She is described by many people as hot-headed to the point of recklessness. She is quick to act on her whim without so much of planning or consideration to the effect her action may cause. Even so, this hot-headed and recklessness stems from her strong sense of justice. She is the daughter of Cassius Bright and is also a Bracer. Her weapon of choice is a Bo Staff, taught to her by her father. She lives with her father and Joshua Bright on the outskirts of Rolent. She is shown to harbor romantic feelings towards Joshua although the young man is mostly oblivious to her approach.

To protect her hometown from the Erebonian Empire and to distinguish herself from her grandfather’s disloyalty, Lavie enlists in the Northern Jaegers where she’ll do whatever it takes to carry out the mission. Now this rule breaker must form a platoon to embark on a dangerous recon mission into enemy lines—will her mission be a success?

In the southwest area of the Zemulia Continent, one will find the tiny Liberl Kingdom. A small monarchy that has managed to defy all odds against attempts to overcome them during war. Liberl is split into five regions: Rolent, Bose, Ruan, Zeiss, and Grancel. In the city of Rolent, Cassius Bright has raised two children by himself, Estelle and Joshua. 
He taught them everything they know himself, and encourages them to sign up to become apprentices in the Bracers Guild. Soon after, however, he receives a letter and has to leave on business, leaving Estelle and Joshua to fend for themselves. While working, they receive notice one day that their father's airship has gone missing. With this in mind, the two gear themselves up, and set off to find the ship and save their father.
