Another android, considered as Jiro&#039;s &quot;younger brother&quot; as he was also made by Professor Komyoji. While Jiro was made by Dr. Komyoji voluntarily, Saburo was one of the androids Komyoji was forced to make under the dominance of DARK to &quot;correct&quot; his mistake by destroying Kikaider. Unlike the other DARK androids, Saburo is a cyborg. Gill had Dr. Komyoji&#039;s brain transplanted into the very android he created as his trump card against Jiro. Hakaider almost succeeded in killing Kikaider, but he was forced to stop fighting because he needs periodic blood transfusions from Dr. Komoji&#039;s body. When White Bone Flying Squirrel defeated Hakaider, Mitsuko was able to return Komyoji&#039;s brain to his body. In the sequel show, Kikaider 01, Professor Gill&#039;s brain somehow wound up in Hakaider. Saburo often announces his presence by whistling. Saburo is played by Jouji Mayama for his human form but is voiced by Shōzō Iizuka in his robot form.

The genius robotics professor, Dr. Komyoji has created Jiro (who has the ability to transform into Kikaider) &ndash; a humanoid robot tasked with the protection of Dr. Komyoji&rsquo;s son, Masaru, and daughter, Mitsuko. Gifted with a conscience circuit, which has the power to simulate real emotions that helps to distinguish between &ldquo;right and wrong&rdquo;, Jiro must protect Mitsuko and Masaru from the evil Dr. Gil who wants Jiro to join his army and aid in his goal of world domination.

The series is initially a darker version of the original live action tokusatsu show Jinzou Ningen Kikaida, creating or expanding many emotional conflicts within Kikaida and other characters which was not present in the original Kikaida story.

Dr. Komyogi is an expert in robotics and has a wealthy sponsor, Herbert Gill. Gill however, is a horrible man who forces Dr. Komyogi to develop numerous robots which he plans to use to take over the world. Dr. Komyogi realizes Gill's dark ambition and secretly develops a high-performance humanoid-robot called Jiro, who looks exactly like a human but transforms into a battle robot Kikaider who has his great superpower. Komyoji leaves Kikaider with his daughter Mitsuko and then disappears.
 
Finally, Gill makes his move. He unleashes a robot army named Dark to dominate and control human society. Mitsuko, reading a message left for her by her father Dr. Komyogi, persuades Jiro/Kikaider to fight off Gill's terrible robots. On that day, Jiro/Kikaider's fierce battles with Dark begin!
