Manifested spirit of Jūshirō Ukitake&#039;s Zanpakutō that is seen during the Zanpakutō Unknown Tales arc.     In their first appearance, both boys are seen laughing and playing, reflecting their child-like appearance. They seem to frequently join hands, reminiscent of how they appear in their released Zanpakutō form, in which they are bound together by a red rope. As they have not yet shown any resentment or dislike of their former master; their reasons for leaving Ukitake are currently unknown. After being restored to normal, Sōgyo no Kotowari, while still as playful as ever, is shown to be more behaved as they actually listen to Ukitake. Their relation to Ukitake becomes like younger brother/son as shown from their constant tackling for attention on him

Ichigo Kurosaki is a rather normal high school student apart from the fact he has the ability to see ghosts. This ability never impacted his life in a major way until the day he encounters the Shinigami Kuchiki Rukia, who saves him and his family's lives from a Hollow, a corrupt spirit that devours human souls.

Wounded during the fight against the Hollow, Rukia chooses the only option available to defeat the monster and passes her Shinigami powers to Ichigo. Now forced to act as a substitute until Rukia recovers, Ichigo hunts down the Hollows that plague his town.
