Kaori is mainly featured in Shiori&#039;s arc. However, as she&#039;s Nayuki&#039;s best friend as well as Yuuichi&#039;s classmate, she&#039;s regularly seen. As the class representative, Kaori is smart and very knowledgeable about the townspeople and everyone attending their school. Despite her extensive knowledge, she is not aware of the supernatural events that happen around her.     ~!She completely ignores her younger sister, Shiori, because of Shiori&#039;s illness. Kaori believes that if she forgets about Shiori&#039;s existence, the pain of losing her won&#039;t be as strong.!~

As a young child, Aizawa Yuuichi had often visited his cousin in the city. However, something drastic happened to keep him away for seven long years. Now, Yuuichi returns, his memories of those days are simply gone. 
Settling into the wintry town, Yuuichi comes across several young girls, all of whom are connected to his past. As he befriends them and continues to interact with them, the long forgotten memories from his childhood begin to resurface...

Changing schools is something Yuuchi is accustomed to, due to his parent's profession, and with their recent venture to Africa, he is returning to his aunt's home after 7 years. The time that has passed since his last visit has faded his memories of the people he knew, and the ties that bonded them to him, including his cousin Nayuki. Slowly those people, coincidently all being girls, find their way back to him. However, time has passed and things have happened in their own lives that sets the tone for the series. Secrets that are coming to surface, and memories that are returning to not only Yuuichi, but to those surrounding him. Kanon is the story of Yuuichi Aizawa and his return to his always snowy hometown after eight years. The problem is that Yuuichi doesn&rsquo;t remember his time there and all the people he met, so he has to gradually begin to remember everything. Of course this being a love story Yuuichi meets several girls including his cousin Naiyuki, the taiyaki obsessed Ayu, the silent Mai, the cute yet aggresive Makoto, and the terminally ill Shiori.

The second manga, under the main title Kanon was adapted from the visual novel version that preceded it, and was illustrated by Kensha Shimotsuki. The first bound volume was released in Japan on April 1, 2007 and focused on Nayuki's story. There are four chapters in volume two, one for each of the other heroines not featuring in volume one, starting with Makoto's thirty-eight-page chapter, followed by Mai's with eighteen pages, Shiori's with twenty, and finally Ayu's with forty-eight pages.
