(at the beginning of the series)   Sana Kurata is an 11-year-old child actress in the 6th grade that is the main star of the hit TV show 'Child's Toy'. Sana is a natural born leader who is very curious, stubborn, and loves to help others out with their problems. She's always cheerful, talkative, and full of spunk. Her family is made up of mother Misako Kurata, who is a famous author, and a man named Rei that she took in and made her manager.   At school, she becomes enemies with a boy named Akito Hayama, who grouped up some of the boys to cause chaos in the classroom. She tries to find ways to beat Akito so that the boys stop interrupting the lessons, but that soon fails and they quickly become friends as Sana learns more about Akito's past.    ~!During the course of the story it is revealed that Sana was a foundling adopted by Misako and her biological mother is Keiko Sakai. In the manga Sana develops a psychological issue as a child called, "Doll Syndrome" that causes her emotions to disappear for a brief time.  Later in the series, Sana realizes she's in love with Akito Hayama which is revealed during a night with Asako.!~   ~!In a 2009 manga one-shot called Deep Clear, Sana is 26-years-old, married to Akito and is pregnant with his child. She gives birth to a girl, whom she names Shuri.!~

Laura Dawn Bailey is an American actress and voice actress. Best known for her anime roles (at first, Funimation titles but she has definitely moved on), she has also supplied voices in video games and worked as staff on several anime series. She's become one of the most prolific female voice actors in the AAA gaming industry since 2010.

Some of her best known anime roles are Lust in Fullmetal Alchemist, Young Trunks in Dragon Ball Z, Maka Albarn in Soul Eater, Tohru Honda in Fruits Basket, Sana Kurata in Kodocha, and Shin Nohara in the English dub of Crayon Shin-chan.

Sana Kurata, a child actress, faces many problems in her classroom, including a major one - her bullying classmate, Akito Hayama. Sana's outgoing and friendly nature leads her to work towards correcting all of the problems around her. The Kodomo no Omocha OVA is a thirty-minute animation video that was made before the TV series. It covers the first volume of the manga, so it's equivalent to TV episodes 1-6. It relates Sana's troubles with Hayama at school as a result of the "oyakodon baka" situation and culminates when Hayama's dad and sister realize their mistakes thanks to Sana's efforts.

Shuri is a private detective with a special ability to read minds. She usually handles all sorts of cases, but this time she is faced with a rather unusual request. The famous actress Kurata Sana is going to play in a new film as a detective. She wants to be able to impersonate her character as best as possible so she asks Shuri if she can stick around to learn a few things that real detectives do and how they act. Despite this childish request, Shuri also recieves a more intimate request from Sana's manager, Sagami Rei, who wants to find out the reason why Sana and her husband, Hayama Akito, have decided to live separate one from another.
