Lion is a member of the Ushiromiya family who exists only within the alternate world shown in Requiem of the Golden Witch as a result of Natsuhi deciding to keep the baby Kinzo offered her. As the first child of Krauss and Natsuhi in this world, Lion is the heir to the Ushiromiya family and well-liked by the rest of the family, including Kinzo, in part because of Lion's soft-spoken nature and good-mannered upbringing.   Lion becomes Willard H. Wright's partner during his investigation of Beatrice's death, becoming close with him and even leading to a running gag in which Lion would pinch Will's buttocks whenever Will acts in an disrespectful manner.   Lion is given an androgynous appearance to hide their true gender.

The final episode focuses on Ange, who in her quest to discover the truth behind the events of the Rokkenjima Mass Murders is given the chance to go to Rokkenjima as a six-year old by Battler. The central conflict revolves around the struggle between Battler and Bernkastel to convince Ange of their own perspective towards how she ought to approach the truth and her quest for it.


This episode presents an alternate reality where Battler does not come to Rokkenjima, the Golden Witch does not exist, and a mysterious child named Lion is now the designated successor to the Ushiromiya family. The detective Willard H. Wright is tasked by Bernkastel to investigate this strange world and uncover the truth behind Beatrice. The chapter delves into the past experiences of several characters, including Kinzo and the person who would become Beatrice. 

As the era changes from Showa, to Heisei, and now Reiwa, the curtain rises once again on a tragedy for the steadily declining population of Hinamizawa. This year, again, one will die and one will go missing on the night of the Watanagashi festival...

Umineko no Naku Koro ni Shi: Forgery of the Purple Logic is a manga-exclusive series by Kurumi Suzuhiro. The story expands on the use of the purple declaration introduced by Bernkastel in Twilight of the Golden Witch. The red truth still applies in this game even though there are lesser than usual games. Knox's rules are stated in red to show that it is valid in this game. The story takes place outside the main story.

An accompaniment to the Umineko visual novel, featuring several side stories and a prologue for Hotarubi no Tomoru Koro ni. Several of these side stories are included in Umineko no Naku Koro ni Tsubasa and Hane.
