Akari is the very protagonist of this series. Tomoe Midou&#039;s daughter, holder of many unbeaten record and seen as a symbol for the athletes living in the satellite-university, she fights every day with the promise made to the mother to be able to reach herself the satellite and becoming Cosmo Beauty, one day.  Akari is of weak nature, always ready to cry and surrender, although this part of her personality will evolve mainly in the last episodes of the series. 

Akari Kanzaki has just joined an all-girls academy in hopes of entering the University Satellite, an elite sports training facility. She wants to win the title of Cosmo Beauty - a title held years ago by her mother. It's not an easy task for her as fear, doubt and peer pressure get in her way, but friends, rivals and fans slowly encourage her to overcome her obstacles and become the best of the Battle Athletes.
