Kuroobi is a ray-type fish-man. Kuroobi is one of the strictest members in his crew and has always been wary of Nami's supposed allegiance to Arlong. Kuroobi practices "Fish-Man Karate" (called "Merman Karate" in the now defunct 4kids dub) to fight his opponents. During the battle with the Straw Hats in the Arlong arc, he fights against Sanji whom he nearly defeats when the cook goes underwater to try and save Luffy. As a Fish-Man, Kuroobi has an advantage underwater. However, Sanji manages to force him up to dry land by breathing the air from his gills, suffocating him, and then promptly beats him into submission with his kicks.

A retelling of the Arlong Park arc, with new animation.

The special will be a completely new work, featuring reanimated scenes from the beginning of the series through when the crew enters the Grand Line. 
 
The special is commemorating the manga's 20th anniversary, and will also feature anime versions of the original manga's chapter cover stories as part of the special's ending credits. The staff haven't yet clarified which cover story or stories will be animated. Additionally, the anime will feature a special 20th anniversary commemoration version of the original opening theme song "We Are!".

"Orb Panic Adventure!" is a special crossover story featuring characters from One Piece, Dragon Ball and Astro Boy. It was created as part of many interactive crossovers screened at special events called Odaiba Boken-Oh to commemorate Fuji TV's 45th anniversary. It has yet to see a home release. In the following year it had a sequel called Kyutai Panic Adventure Returns!
