Teshigawara is the class' "mood maker".   He is usually superficial in nature. He is shown to have a sympathetic side, since he was the first one to talk to Kouichi, who was still not used to the surroundings. 

When Kouichi Sakakibara transfers to a new school, he senses a frightening atmosphere in his new class, a secret none of them will talk about. At the center is the beautiful Mei Misaki. Kouichi is immediately drawn to her mysterious aura, but he begins to realize that no one else in the class is aware of her presence. Soon after his arrival, what is known as the Calamity begins, and it claims the lives of many students.

In a third-year classroom of Yamakita Middle School 26 years ago, there was a student named Misaki. As an honors student who was also good at sports, the charming girl was popular with her classmates. When she suddenly died, her classmates decided to carry on as if she was still alive until graduation.
