Following a sudden outbreak of psychokinesis in 0.1% of the population, a rapid transformation swept the world. The godlike ability to manipulate matter remotely turned many power wielders to violence, inciting a long period of upheaval. Shinsekai yori tells the unique coming-of-age story of Saki and her friends as they journey to grow into their roles in the supposed utopia. Haruka is currently a voice actor and musician. She plays guitar in the band [Roselia](https://anilist.co/staff/153170/Roselia) as part of the Bang Dream franchise.

Haruka was an exclusive model for the Japanese magazine "Seventeen" from 2003 to 2007. After becoming a voice actor, she put her activities on hiatus after entering university, and later started voice acting again in 2011 when she became affiliated with Sigma Seven e. On August 2014, she left Sigma Seven e and became a freelancer, before signing up with ELBS Entertainment on October 2016. On May 1, 2017, she announced that she would be transferred to Ace Crew.

Haruka is energetic, jokes around a lot, and has a hard time staying in-character. She is skilled at drawing and can also speak English. Her other hobbies are watching movies, reading books, eating, and sleeping. Her favorite guitarists are Nirvana's Kurt Cobain and X JAPAN's ex-member HIDE. She is also a fan of both Nine Inch Nails and Luna Sea.

Blake Thomas Shepard is an American voice actor who works on anime series at ADV Films, Funimation and Sentai Filmworks. 

About one thousand years into the future, civilization has been retrograded and humans are living dispersed within small communities. People in this era have a psychic power called "Juryoku" which materializes things they imagine. In the absence of advanced scientific technology, people are using this power as a major source of energy. 
One day, a girl called Saki, along with her friends, finds a small archive robot outside the town. It records the ancient history of humans. It tells them that Juryoku was found in the 21st century and the discovery caused a world war between psychics and non-psychics. The psychics won this war and thus their reign of terror began. 
When the adults in town figure out that the children discovered this forbidden knowledge, they seal their Juryoku and exile them. Saki and the others end up in a forest where they meet a huge hairless bipedal mouse known as a "Bakenezumi" and get involved in a violent war the creatures are currently engaged in.
