First seen in a flashback in volume 2. His first true appearance is in volume 6. In the anime, he first appears in episode 6 for a brief moment.  A level 9 Burst Linker and one of the Six Kings of the Accelerated World. He commands the legion "Leonids". He is seen to be accompanied with two other people, known as the Royal Guards.    ~!He possesses one of the 7 Sacred Treasures of Accel World, the sword  Impulse. According to Niko in volume 11, he is the strongest out of all the Kings. !~

A month prior, it was publicly disclosed that he had been married to a former voice actress for nearly 20 years, although the writer had allegedly not been aware of his marriage as they had been in a relationship for 10 years and intending to marry. On March 31, 2023, it was jointly announced with his talent agency "Intention" that they are ending their contract, as Sakurai requested to leave as a way of taking sole responsibility of his actions and for self-reflection.

Kaiji Tang is an American voice actor working primarily in Los Angeles. Kaiji was primarily known to the majority of anime fans as one of the panelists on AnimeTV until he made the transition into voice over acting and had his first major role as the unusual character of Sputnik in Kite Liberator. He has gone on to play roles such as Shiro Takamachi and Graf Eisen in Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha and Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha A's along with Colbert and Derflinger in The Familiar of Zero. He has also had minor roles in shows such as Flag, Karas, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and Tweeny Witches. Kaiji is also a commercial actor with credits such as the 2007 Garmin commercial with Yao Ming and Discovery Channel's Manday Discovery lineup.
