Jungo is remarked upon to be one of the "simpler" characters in terms of his aspirations and his thought process. He doesn't seem to grasp many concepts of common sense or technology. Jungo values peace and friendship, making efforts to keep the cast together whenever it seems like the bonds between them are breaking. Usually quiet and gentle, Jungo enters a trance-like rage when he sees that his friends are being threatened.  Comically, he has an unnatural fixation with chawanmushi, which becomes a running gag throughout the series. He offers it multiple times to other characters as a sign of peacemaking or generally as a gift. He also likes cats.

When the world is under attack by a monstrous and seemingly unstoppable enemy, the only way to fight back is with warriors who have already died! Sidestepping a gruesome fate in a subway crash during an earthquake, two young men and a girl find themselves recruited into the ranks of the Devil Summoners and given the ability to literally call up demons to battle against the mysterious Septenriones! Can Hibiki, Daichi and Io survive in a war where demons face demons under human command? Where a person's death can be seen in advance? Where every living being is just a game piece to be saved or expended? And where each clash comes with a clock counting down to Armageddon?<br><br>

The setting of Devil Survivor 2 spans the whole country of Japan. It tells the story of Japanese high-school students who receive emails from a website foretelling their friend's deaths. Mysterious creatures invade the country, and the students enter a pact, enabling them to summon demons from their cell phones with a special Devil Summoning App.
