Kanae Katagiri was a Gemischt (Mixed-Blooded) Quincy and a former maid in the service of Ishida family.

As a loyal maid, Katagiri is a very polite and well-mannered person. She addresses [Ryuuken Ishida](https://anilist.co/character/1083/Ishida-Ryuuken) as "young master" and patiently listens to his thoughts and problems. She's aware of the responsibilities which weigh on Ryuuken's shoulders as an Echt (Pure-Blooded) Quincy and she's always ready to offer him advice. She is very attached to Ryuuken, being his protector, and she can't bear to see him sad.

~!She would later become the wife of Ryuuken Ishida and she eventually gave birth to [Uryuu Ishida](https://anilist.co/character/564/Ishida-Uryuu). Nine years ago, on June 17, Katagiri lost consciousness and died three months later, since [Yhwach](https://anilist.co/character/68537/Yhwach) performed Auswahlen (Holy Selection), and took the power of every Gemischt Quincy to make their powers his own.!~

Ichigo Kurosaki has always been able to see ghosts, but this ability doesn't change his life nearly as much as his close encounter with Rukia Kuchiki, a Soul Reaper and member of the mysterious Soul Society. Ichigo Kurosaki gained the powers of a Soul Reaper through a chance encounter. As a Substitute
Soul Reaper, Ichigo became caught in the turmoil of the Soul Society, a place where deceased
souls gather. But with help from his friends, Ichigo overcame every challenge to become even
stronger.
 
When new Soul Reapers and a new enemy appear in his hometown of Karakura, Ichigo jumps
back into the battlefield with his Zanpakuto to help those in need. Meanwhile, the Soul Society
is observing a sudden surge in the number of Hollows being destroyed in the World of the Living.
They also receive separate reports of residents in the Rukon District having gone missing. Finally,
the Seireitei, home of the Soul Reapers, comes under attack by a group calling themselves the
Wandenreich.
 
Led by Yhwach, the father of all Quincies, the Wandenreich declare war against the Soul Reapers
with the following message: "Five days from now, the Soul Society will be annihilated by the
Wandenreich."
 
The history and truth kept hidden by the Soul Reapers for a thousand long years is finally brought
to light.
 
All things must come to an end as Ichigo Kurosaki's final battle begins!
