Sakaeguchi is a very friendly person, who often tries to set Mihashi at ease. When Abe and Mihashi have trouble understanding each other (due to Abe&#039;s short temper and loud manner of speaking, and Mihashi&#039;s stammering and nervousness) Sakaeguchi generally attempts to mediate, being able to understand both of their mannerisms. He attended the same middle school as Abe, and they both played in the Seniors league, although they weren&#039;t friendly at this time as they were in different classes and on different baseball teams. Under stress, Sakaeguchi is known to get diarrhea, a trait revealed to everyone by Abe, who noticed it during their high school entrance exams. As a batter, Sakaeguchi is exceptionally good at bunting and usually bats in the leadoff position.

After a falling out with his middle school team, Mihashi enters Nishiura high school with no social skill, a warped opinion of himself, and every intention to quit baseball. The newly formed Nishiura baseball team, however, needs a pitcher, and they welcome him. Most enthusiastic is Abe, a domineering catcher with his own game issues. 
And so a battery every bit as complementary as it is dysfunctional is formed. If they can figure out how to work together, they might be the answers to each other's problems-and the team might be able to win.

Aaron is an American voice actor who works for anime series of Funimation Entertainment.  He started voice acting when he was nine years old as the voice of Hiro Sohma and the young Akito Sohma in Fruits Basket. He was only twelve years old when he voiced the role of Alphonse Elric in Fullmetal Alchemist, and is a cousin of voice actor and director Justin Cook. Aaron was one of few child voice actors in the voice acting field.  Due to his voice maturing, he was replaced by Maxey Whitehead for his role of Alphonse Elric in Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, but makes a cameo as the voice of the young Van Hohenheim, Edward and Alphonse's father.

Picking up where the original series left off, Ren Mihashi, the ace pitcher of the newly-formed Nishiura High School baseball team, and his teammates face the Sakitama High School team in the next round of the High School Baseball Invitational Tournament as they aim to play in the finals at legendary Hanshin Koushien Stadium.
