Master of Hokushin Itto Ryu Kenjutsu. Daughter of Kazuma Shinguji (hero of the last demon war), and heir to the spiritual power of the Shinguji family, she was summoned to Tokyo by General Yoneda sometime after the formation of the Hanagumi. Moving from rural Sendai and struggling to live in a new metropolitan lifestyle, she faces even more challenges in attempting to integrate herself with the members of the Hanagumi.    In the beginnning, she is seen by everyone as clumsy and a country bumpkin, but grows steadily in power to become the strongest member of the team, aided by the inherited spiritual power of the Shinguji family and her spiritual sword Arataka. She has a friendly and caring personality, bringing smiles and giving great moral support to everyone in the group.    Her Koubu is the Nishiki unit.

Sakura travels to the capital with aspirations of defending the city from the demonic forces of the Black Sanctum Council like her father before her. However, things are not as she imagined as in addition to using her great spiritual energy to pilot a mech called a Kobu, she must also perform on stage as an actor as The Imperial Flower Division's cover is an art theater. Making a fool of herself and ruining a production gets her on everyone's bad side and somehow she must learn to work with them as well as prevent the enemy from destroying several shrines which protect the city.

The story of the anime will revolve around Dreamcast, Sega Saturn, and Mega Drive, who have just enrolled in SeHaGaga Academy at Tokyo’s Haneda Ootorii station. They are given an assignment needed to graduate by a suspicious teacher, and to clear this assignment, the girls need to enter the world of Sega games. Wendee Lee is an American voice actress and one of the most prolific and experienced American voice actors in the business. While she has done voicework for many video games, as well as several episodes in the Power Rangers franchise, she is particularly prolific in the dubbing of anime, where she has more credits than any other English anime voice actor with currently two hundred and fourteen credits.

The year is 1921, and this is a Tokyo where monstrous steam-powered robots crash a flower-viewing party only to be cut down samurai-style by a young girl in a kimono and traditional hakama pants.
