Riko is a reserved, polite and modest girl who likes indoor activities, acting as a foil to her friends, the more energetic Chika and You. However, while she is calm and mature, she often flies into a panic when under pressure, jumping to conclusions and making mistakes. Because of this, and a previous incident on which she failed to play the piano at a live audience, she does not think she is special, so she does not want to become a school idol. However, her friend Chika drags her into it, in the hopes this would inspire her to keep playing the piano.

Rikako Aida is a Japanese actress, voice actress and singer from Tokyo, Japan. She is best known for her role as Riko Sakurauchi from Love Live! Sunshine!!. She is affiliated with Ken Production.

On August 21, 2024, she made her VTuber debut as Rikyako (りきゃこ).

After failing in the preliminary tournament of the previous Love Live, the members of Aqours have rededicated themselves to succeeding both as idols and as saviors of their school, making sure their home will never be taken away. In the film's story, Uranohoshi Girls' High School's idol group Aqours has won the final Love Live! contest. While preparing to enroll at a new school, the first- and second-year students encounter unexpected trouble. Also, after heading for a graduation trip, the third-year students go missing. As they are separated, the Aqours members appreciate the weight of their togetherness for the first time. In order to move forward, they must decide how to react to their new situations.

The story reimagines Yoshiko Tsushima, the school idol afflicted with chuunibyou (adolescent delusions of grandeur), as a magical girl. The story is set in Numazu, a scenic harbor town surrounded by the sea and mountains. Ever since she was little, the girl Yohane has never fit in, and has always felt apart from everyone in town. Her aspirations and true place in this world lie elsewhere. The story follows this girl who can't follow rules as she journeys into the mysterious world.
