Gorou is a middle-age private trader. He mainly walks about the downtown of Tokyo and takes lunch in a small restaurant. He is a nondrinker and prefers Japanese sweets. He has a strong opinion on eating that one should be free from any business schedules or social matters and enjoy the feeling of fullness after a meal. 

This manga simply describes how Gorou Inogashira, the main character, chooses and takes a meal. Unlike other gourmet manga, Gorou likes to eat at cheap restaurants and no trivia on cuisine is given. The authors are trying to depict the essentials of the act of "eating" by Gorou's monologue, which comprises most of the lines of this manga.

Inogashira Gorou eats and indulges at restaurants or ramen shops found on any street corners. He has become a liberal foodie removed from social obligations for a fleeting moment to satisfy his hunger. Solitary Gourmet... That's the solitary process of eating without interruption or worry that gives the most comfort to people equally.
