Tsukuru, attending school as usual, is suddenly summoned to a different world with his classmates. However, what awaits them after being summoned is a hero auction. in which each country bids for heroes to defeat the demon king. 
 
While his classmates who got cheat jobs sold for sky-high prices, Tsukuru, with the obvious loser job of “Chef” wasn’t sold at all, and was thrown out a transfer gate to a magic forest in the middle of nowhere, inhabited by many powerful monsters. 
 
Tsukuru, narrowly avoiding death many times at the hands of monsters, is thrust onto the path of the strongest!

While on a regular school day, Tsukuru along with his classmates got transported to another world. However, at the other side of the summoning there was a hero's auction, where each nation would bid for the heroes to defeat the demon kings of each territories. While his classmates received cheat jobs and got auctioned quickly Tsukuru got the useless job "Chef." As no nation bid for him, he got thrown out through a transfer gate. At the other side of the gate was a territory dominated by strong monsters...
