This is the second version of "Romance Dawn" containing 45 pages, and was originally published in the Weekly Shonen Jump of 1996 issue #41 on 23 September. It has since been reprinted, along with a page of author commentary, in the Eiichiro Oda early-works compilation Wanted! in 1998. 
Note: It was adapted into episode 907 of the One Piece TV anime that aired on October 20, 2019.

As a child, Monkey D. Luffy was inspired to become a pirate by listening to the tales of the buccaneer "Red-Haired" Shanks. But his life changed when Luffy accidentally ate the Gum-Gum Devil Fruit and gained the power to stretch like rubber...at the cost of never being able to swim again! Gold Roger was known as the Pirate King, the strongest and most infamous being to have sailed the Grand Line. The capture and death of Roger by the World Government brought a change throughout the world. His last words before his death revealed the location of the greatest treasure in the world, One Piece. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the One Piece TV anime, Romance Dawn version 2 was adapted into a TV special. (Episode 907)

This is the first version of "Romance Dawn", which one might call a One Piece prototype. 
Notes: 
- It's 50 pages in length and was first published as a one-shot in the Shōnen Jump 1996 Summer Special (an issue dedicated to the work of up-and-coming artists) on August 4th. 
- An animated version of this story was made as part of a special OVA commemorating the 40th anniversary of Shonen Jump, in which One Piece is serialized.
