Kycilia Zabi is the only daughter of Degwin Sodo Zabi. While Yoshiyuki Tomino's novel version of MSG indicates her as the fourth of his five children and youngest except for Garma, the ongoing Gundam: The Origin manga by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko identifies her as his third, older than her brother Dozle.  Kycilia was quick to adapt to the changing technology of the One Year War, and was equally proficient in gathering intelligence for use against the Earth Federation. She was in charge of the Principality of Zeon's mobile suit forces, and was responsible for their use against the Federation. In addition, she was responsible for the creation of numerous elite mobile suit units, including Char Aznable's 300th Independent Corps (aka "Char's Newtype Corps"), the hand-picked Chimera Corps and the Midnight Fenrir covert ops team.  She is portrayed ambiguously during both the main series, and the various side stories surrounding the One Year War, with her motives often open to question. On the one hand, she is shown to be fiercely loyal to the people of Zeon, and to the men under her command. The first episode, Aoi Hitomi no Casval, tells the story of Casval Rem Deikun and Artesia Som Deikun (Char and Sayla, before Char became known as the Red Comet) before the One-Year War in UC.0068. 
 
The story for the second episode, Kanashimi no Artesia, moves three years ahead to U.C. 0071. The story will follow the tearful separation of the siblings Casval and Artesia (before they became known as Char and Sayla). It will also feature more of the development of the mobile suits, particularly on the Zeon side. 
 
The third episode, Akatsuki no Houki, follows the youth who would become known as Char Aznable and his future comrade Garma Zabi after they join the Zeons' military academy.

Hirohashi was born in Niigata Prefecture, and her family's home was a Buddhist temple. Because of this, she attended Ryukoku University in Kyoto, a Buddhist university. In the middle of her first year, however, her parents told her that she could do what she liked, even if it wasn't related to Buddhism, so she sought out what she wanted to do. During her second year, she remembered a radio show she used to listen to in middle school and became interested in voice acting, so she started going to the Aoni Coaching School Osaka while attending university at the same time. The radio personality she had listened to in junior high school was a voice actor, which inspired her to become a voice actor herself.

In December of UC0073 Investigator Leopold Fieseler of the Zeon National Public Safety Division is investigating a series of terrorist bombings that have been occuring on Side 3 when without warning he is contacted by an old childhood friend, Elise Ann Finnegan, who is now working with the Prefectural Office. 
When they meet, she hands him a disk containing a list of Zeon Officials marked for assassination; Officials who have been dying during the very bombings he is now investigating. 
At first he thinks that its data that has been leaked to the press, but as he scrolls down he discovers something further. This list does not stop with those who are already dead, and at the bottom of the list is the name "Commander Gihren Zabi" - the Leader of the Principality of Zeon.
