Balkus is the Second Zoalord and leading scientist of Chronos.  when he was shipwrecked near the Isle of Silha, Arkanfel's home. He came accross Arkanfel's tomb and when Arkanfel awoke, he bowed to the Zoalord. Noticing that Balkus was a loyal subject of extreme intelligence, Arkanfel made Balkus a Zoalord and pulled 10 other Zoacrystals from his body telling Balkus to take charge of Chronos in his absence and make 10 more Zoalords to command the Zoanoid armies.  Since then Blakus has fought the Guyvers, created Enzyme Type II Zoanoids to kill them with his telekinetic abilities and amazingly cunning stratagies.   Balkus has yet to take Zoaform and most people believe he dose not have one however in Mutronics (the movie Guyver fans pretend didn't happen) the character called Balkus changed into a dragon like Zoaform.

Sho and his friend, Tetsuro, stumble upon a strange orb-like mechanism, the Guyver Unit, in the woods. It physically bonds with Sho and turns him into the alien soldier, Guyver. His mission is to protect the Guyver Unit from the Japanese corporation known as Chronos. They are after it and two other units just like it. To retrieve the object, they send out vicious monsters known as Zoanoids. So no one is safe in Sho's life; not even himself.

Sho and his friend Tetsurou stumble upon an odd alien artifact while walking through the woods. Then, the alien artifact breaks free of its metallic bonds and enters Sho's body, turning him into the Guyver. With this new power, Sho must do battle with the evil Chronos corporation and their genetically enhanced Zoanoids, who seek to get the Guyver back into their labs. No one close to Sho is safe from Chronos. He must fight.
