An elite Knightmare Frame pilot and a Purist, who is deeply concerned with the Purists' supremacy - enough to use Suzaku as a scapegoat for both avenging Clovis' death and reinforcing the Purists' superiority in Area 11. Initially, he held the rank of Margrave in Area 11's military hierarchy. After Clovis' murder, Jeremiah takes upon the role of Area 11's Acting-Consul, but upon the Zero fiasco, Jeremiah falls into disgrace (due to his incomprehensible actions caused by Lelouch's geass), is targeted for termination by his fellow Purist officers, demoted to the rank of a mere Knightmare Frame pilot and referred mockingly as Orange or Orange-Kun by both his superiors and his fellow knightmare pilots.    ~!In the second season he came back as a machine-like man having the ability to use Geass Canceller. At the end of episode 13 it is seen that he joins Zero's side after revealing that on the day Empress Marianne was killed, he attempted to rescue her but failed. He came back as a member of the Knightmare Frame pilot to atone for his inability to rescue her. !~

On August 10th of the year 2010 the Holy Empire of Britannia began a campaign of conquest, its sights set on Japan. Operations were completed in one month thanks to Britannia's deployment of new mobile humanoid armor vehicles dubbed Knightmare Frames. Japan's rights and identity were stripped away, the once proud nation now referred to as Area 11. Its citizens, Elevens, are forced to scratch out a living while the Britannian aristocracy lives comfortably within their settlements. Pockets of resistance appear throughout Area 11, working towards independence for Japan. 
 Lelouch, an exiled Imperial Prince of Britannia posing as a student, finds himself in the heart of the ongoing conflict for the island nation. Through a chance meeting with a mysterious girl named C.C., Lelouch gains his Geass, the power of the king. The Empire of Brittania has invaded Japan using giant robot weapons called Knightmare Frames. Japan is now referred to as Area 11, and its people the 11s. A Brittanian who was living in Japan at the time, Lelouch, vowed to his Japanese friend Suzaku that he'd destroy Brittania. Years later, Lelouch is in high school, but regularly skips out of school to go play chess and gamble on himself. 
One day, he stumbles on terrorists 11s who've stolen a military secret and is caught by a member of the Brittanian task force sent after them, who is Suzaku. As the rest of the squad arrives, Suzaku is shot for disobeying orders, while the military secret, a young girl, gives Lelouch the power to make anyone obey any order. He takes command of the terrorists and leads them to crush the approaching Brittanian force. However, Suzaku is secretly made the pilot of Brittania's brand new test model Knightmare, Lancelot. Lelouch becomes the masked king Zero to lead the rebellion to defeat Brittania.

In the all-new story, Lelouch makes the ultimate use of his Geass power for his little sister Nunnally, who loves Alice in Wonderland.
