A one-eyed man who presently bears the title of the Knight of One, the strongest amongst the Rounds. He pilots the Knightmare Frame Galahad. Despite his status and combat abilities, he believes that war should be used as a last resort, and also sees strength without restraint as needless violence.   During the second battle of Tokyo, Bismarck leads the Britannian forces guarding the shore against Li Xingke's invasion force. Li and Bismarck battle, with Li unable to defeat him. Bismarck compliments Li's skill when he purposefully takes a hit to move into position to rescue the Chinese command vessel. During Schneizel's attempted coup d'état of Emperor Charles, he intervenes to stop Suzaku's assassination attempt on the Emperor. Suzaku's "live" command urges him to flee, indicating that Waldstein is extremely dangerous. Following the death of the Emperor and Lelouch's ascension to the throne, Bismarck leads three of the remaining Rounds' members and a squadron of Knightmares in an attempt to remove Lelouch from power, but they are decimated by Suzaku in the Lancelot Albion. Bismarck attempts to use his Geass, which allows him to see a few seconds into the future, to even the odds, claiming that the only person he ever had to use it on was Marianne. Suzaku's "live" command allows him to achieve victory despite Bismarck's Geass, slicing the Galahad in half. Bismarck dies gasping Marianne's name.   (Source: Wikipedia) 

A year has passed since "The Black Rebellion" and the remaining Black Knights have vanished into the shadows, their leader and figurehead, Zero, executed by the Britannian Empire. Area 11 is once more squirming under the Emperor's oppressive heel as the Britannian armies concentrate their attacks on the European front. But for the Britannians living in Area 11, life is back to normal. On one such normal day, a Britannian student, skipping his classes in the Ashford Academy, sneaks out to gamble on his chess play. But unknown to this young man, several forces are eying him from the shadows, for soon, he will experience a shocking encounter with his own obscured past, and the masked rebel mastermind Zero will return.

Year Seven of the Kowa Period, in the former Hokkaido Block occupied by the Neo-Britannian Empire, live mercenary brothers known as the Nameless Mercenaries. The eldest, Ash, has excellent athletic ability and advanced Knightmare Frame controlling skills, while the youngest, Rozé, is clearheaded and oversees intel gathering and devising strategies. Due to an impregnable wall of energy called the Situmpe Wall, for four years the 100th emperor who stopped the Black Knights' liberation plan, Callis al Britannia, has been trying to plunge the world into chaos once again with the help of his servant, Norland, and his Einberg Knights. Upon receiving a request, Rozé and Ash, along with the Seven Shining Stars resistance group confront the Empire to recapture Princess Sakuya.
