Matadogas is a purple Pokémon consisting of two spherical heads connected by a thin tube with another sphere in the center. The heads have differing sizes and features. The left head is larger and has prominent eyebrows, pointed teeth protruding from its lower jaw, and two flat teeth in its upper jaw. The smaller, right head simply has two pointed teeth, one at each corner of its mouth. The larger head has a cream-colored skull-and-crossbones marking below its face, while the smaller head has a ring marking instead. It is covered with many geyser-like protrusions, which usually expel mustard-colored gases. Matadogas is said to form when poisonous gases pool and two Koffing fuse over many years. Very rarely, two Koffing can become a Matadogas in a short timespan because of a sudden mutation. Triplet Matadogas have been discovered, although they are extremely rare.

Each of Matadogas' heads contains a different toxin. It mixes its gases by inflating one head and deflating the other. When its gases mix, Matadogas becomes more toxic and putrid. Matadogas can hover in midair, presumably due to gases lighter than air, as is the case for Koffing. Despite their stench and poison, Matadogas' gases can be used to make top-grade perfume by diluting them to the highest level.

Matadogas lives in urban areas. It seeks a dirty, unkempt house and nests there. At night, when the people in the house are asleep, it will go through the trash. Matadogas feeds on the dust, microorganisms, and especially gases emitted by garbage and toxic waste. Matadogas' body expands and smells worse upon inhaling poisonous gases. The Kantonian Matadogas used to be common in Galar and created more potent toxins than their Galarian relatives.

A young boy named Satoshi embarks on a journey to become a "Pokémon Master" with his first Pokémon, Pikachu. Joining him on his travels are Takeshi, a girl-obsessed Rock Pokemon Trainer, and Kasumi, a tomboyish Water Pokémon Trainer who may have a crush on him. Satoshi and Co. end up traveling through various regions, including Kanto, the Orange Islands, and Johto, and then enter the Pokémon League competitions there. Along the way, they run into many confrontations with Musashi, Kojirou, and Nyarth, a trio of Pokémon thieves who are apart of an evil organization called "Team Rocket". But everytime Team Rocket try to do their evil deeds, they fail thanks to Satoshi and his Pokémon.

Eric Stuart is an American voice actor and musician who worked for 4Kids Entertainment, NYAV Post, and Central Park Media. Some of his most prominent dubbing roles include Brock and James in Pokémon from seasons 1–8, Seto Kaiba in Yu-Gi-Oh!, and Gourry Gabriev in Slayers.

After participating in the Johto League, Ash decides to begin anew in yet another journey; this time by himself and Pikachu, in the land of Hoenn. Though he isn't alone for long, as 10-year-old May (whom dislikes Pokemon, but just wants to come along to see the world) travels with him after Pikachu destroys her bicycle. Ash also meets up with his old companion, Brock, and May's younger brother, Max. Together, they travel along in Hoenn, battling Gym Leaders, entering Contests, and other events on the way to the Hoenn League.

Mezase Pokémon Master celebrates the final chapter in Satoshi and Pikachu's story, with their first companions and many Pokémon they have met throughout their journeys making their return.

Ash and his friends arrive at a Pokémon-only park. They set all their Pokémon loose and, after Ash tells Pikachu to watch over Togepi, they enter for a day of fun and relaxation. Unfortunately, it's not going to turn out the way they had hoped.
