Personable and honest, he forges lasting friendships with remarkable ease. Haruka copes with the loss of his parents with a stout heart, burdened with the knowledge that the future of his delicate sister depends on him. As a result, he has a tendency to dote on his sister and worry about her constantly. He cannot swim either. The Kasugano siblings are well regarded around the village, as their grandfather was once a doctor there.

Haruka Kasugano and his twin sister Sora have lost both their parents in an accident, and with them all their support. They decide to move out of the city to the rural town where they once spent summers with their late grandfather. At first everything seems familiar and peaceful, but changes come as Haruka starts to remember things from his youth.<br><br>

The story is set in the distant mountain village of Okukozome-chou. Kasugano Haruka and his twin sister Sora have fond childhood memories of going to the village to visit their grandfather during their summer vacations. However, after losing their parents in an accident, the two must move in with their grandfather.<br><br>
The twins get reacquainted with their old childhood friend Yorihime Nao, their new classmate Nakazato Ryouhei, the shrine maiden Amatsume Akira, and Akira’s friend Migiwa Kazuha. All seems peaceful and familiar. However, beneath the surface is a secret promise that the twins made with each other long ago, the whereabouts of an important lost item, and the real reason they chose to come back here.
