Klaus is the head butler of the Sanzen'in family, who is usually away on business. He has a low alcohol tolerance, doesn't do well with tobacco or women, and likes cars and bikes. He distrusted and disliked Hayate because he was suppose to find Himegami's replacement himself. He challenges Hayate often where the losing condition would be Hayate getting fired. He eventually becomes a rather obscure entity only appearing every 30 or so chapters to explain his distaste in being forgotten.

First comes marriage, then comes an earthbound love that is out of this world! From the day his parents named him, Nasa Yuzaki has been destined for outer space…or so he believes. But while trying to join the space program, he is thrown for a loop when an accident introduces him to Tsukasa, a mysterious girl with strange powers. Is she an alien, a moon goddess or something else? Since she insists on marrying him, Nasa has plenty of chances to find out!

Which is a bit of a problem, since, as the eccentric heiress' butler/personal bodyguard, he's theoretically supposed to be a stabilizing and protective influence. Unfortunately, Nagi and her friends attract trouble the way dropped lollipops attract dirt, and if Hayate has to take a couple of nasty licks along the way, that's just part of the job. The real sucker punch, though, is that Nagi's increasing attraction to Hayate himself is getting precariously close to transforming their professional relationship into something far less professional and much more like a relationship.
