She's a friend of Juan Rico, also his hidden love. She is adored by males, but seems to regard them more like friends. The only one she is emotionally attached to is Johhny. After he leaves and join army, she meets him several times on the spaceship they are both travelling on. Their feelings to each other seem to be confessed at the end of series.

Juan "Johnny" Rico, a high school student living in Buenos Aires, joins the Federation military in the hope of following his love, Carmen, into space. He has to undergo harsh training to become a soldier, harsher than he expected, but despite several setbacks and traumatic experiences, Johnny perseveres and finishes his training. However, a war is brewing on the outer planets with a strange alien enemy and Johnny is thrust into the conflict.<br>

After the events of Invasion, Johnny Rico has been demoted to the rank of colonel and relocated to a Martian satellite to train a new batch of troopers. Unfortunately, these troopers are some of the worst low-performing Rico has ever trained as they're Martians and don't take the war seriously. Mars overall has low support for the war as they see their planet unaffected by the bug conflict and even suggested pulling out from the war. Because of their laid back attitude, the denizens of Mars wasn't ready when the bugs attacked. Unknown to everyone, Sky Marshall Amy Snapp executes her plans for power.

A Japanese voice actress and singer. She used to be a child actress by the name of Eri Okamura. 

She is primarily known for her role in Blood+ as Saya Otonashi and singing "Tsuyogari," the third ending for the anime series Konjiki No Gash Bell!! She is also known to be an amateur manga artist in Japan in her spare time. Kitamura is affiliated with talent agency Early Wing and was formerly affiliated with Kaleidoscope.

Currently works in the music unit ARTERY VEIN with Asami Imai. Also provides the voice of CUL, a Vocaloid.
