Terry comes from the fictitious town of Southtown, Florida (a setting for many SNK games), and is the adoptive son of Jeff Bogard. During his childhood, he witnessed the death of his father at the hands of Geese Howard. Terry chose to pursue his revenge at a later time. But unlike his brother Andy, who left Southtown to train in Japan, Terry chose to stay in his hometown, combining the skills learned from his father with abilities gained from the streets.  Many years later, the crime lord Geese Howard organized a tournament, dubbed The King of Fighters. Terry, Andy and Muay Thai Kickboxing champion Joe Higashi would enter with the purpose of facing Geese. The battle that followed would eventually see Terry defeating Geese, and for some time, it was thought that Geese perished in the battle. The next year saw Geese's half-brother Wolfgang Krauser take control of The King of Fighters, and bringing the once Southtown-only tournament onto the world stage. The finals of this new tournament would again see Terry fighting the sponsor and him ultimately defeating Krauser.  Some time later it was revealed that Geese had survived his encounter with Terry. The Bogards and friends learned of Geese's intentions to retrieve the legendary Jin scrolls, Terry once again challenged and defeated him. Afterwards, Geese fled. Terry had battled to the end of the tournament, defeating characters such as Yamazaki, until finally facing the Jin brothers. Standing now as the victor, Terry once again was the Champion. However, Geese had escaped and with the scrolls. During the next game, Real Bout Fatal Fury, Terry managed to get all the way through the tournament to Geese for one final conflict. At the end of the fight, he knocked Geese off the edge of Geese Tower, but grabbed hold of Geese's hand and tried to keep him from falling. But this was not to be, as Geese knocked Terry's hand away, plummeting to what is believed to be his permanent death. Sometime either before, or after their final conflict, Terry encountered a boy by the name of Rock Howard, Geese's son. Mark Hildreth is a Canadian actor and musician. He has appeared in many movie and television roles. A graduate of The National Theater School of Canada, Mark Hildreth's theater credits include Hamlet (The Shakespeare Project), Bertram in All's well that Ends well (Bard on the beach), Richard of Gloucester in Richard III (NTSC) and Cale Blackwell in Fire (Teatre Lac Brome).    Active as an actor since 1986, Mark has made voiceovers since the age of 10, when he was cast as the voice of Beany in DiC Entertainment's production of Beany and Cecil. Since then his major roles has included: Alex Mann in Action Man, Harrison in Stargate: Infinity, Angel in X-Men: Evolution and Heero Yuy in Gundam Wing.    In 2001, Mark appeared as Eugene Marchbanks in the Vancouver Playhouse production of George Bernard Shaw's Candida, for which he received a Jessie Richardson award for best performance by an actor in a leading role.    In 2003, he joined the band Davis Trading as a keyboardist and singer. Quitting Davis Trading in 2004 to go solo, Mark formed his own band with guitarist Jory Neal Groberman and drummer Amrit Basi. Mark writes and sings all original music. His musical style falls somewhere between Elton John and Stevie Wonder. He is currently recording an album.

Hearing news of demons plaguing the Hakkyokuseiken dojo, Andy leaves his friends to investigate it. To his shock, the rumors are true and the demons' overlord is the formerly deceased Geese. Using his troop of seven demon lords, he imprisons the younger brother and hopes to make him one of minions. Worried about his brother's absence, Terry teams up with Joe, Mai, and Big Bear to battle the undead forces and rescue Andy.

After defeating Geese, Terry resumes his life of fighting and is forgotten by Southtown. Gangsters roam the streets and death is common place; the residents have little to hope for. With little reason to celebrate, the town has degenerated into a fighting pit for some of the world's most dangerous criminals. Terry, rugged and pissed off, battles to bring peace to a hopeless city. A young girl, Media, keeps him optimistic for a better future.
